After completing his postgraduate studies, Kosogov returned to the university faculty, where he worked for a year as a regular engineer. Together with his fellow professors, he opened the Center for Automation of Thermophysical Research (CATR), where he became the commercial director.
The company was involved in the supply of computers and equipment. The center is still in operation in 2024, producing measuring and computing systems, sensors and software.
Andrey Kosogov joined Alfa Group on October 2, 1992, and on October 7, Russian President Boris Yeltsin issued a decree establishing a securities market as part of the privatization effort. In just a month and a half, Kosogov helped create a structure that has been operating effectively for more than 30 years. As of 2024, it is the only fund that has continued to operate since the time of privatization.
Andrey Kosogov, a member of the Supervisory Board of the Alfa Group Consortium and a graduate of MPEI, spoke about his experience in the student teams of the MPEI National Research University and the future of the movement, and also answered the question of whether today’s youth should join the movement and work in squads.
The interview took place as part of an event at the press center of the Parliamentary Gazette publication.
